Any page of this website may be translated in another language. As for this site, the default language is French. Each page, as this one, has a path, like en:wiki:traduction. The system finds the corresponding page in another language by following a simple rule: the two letters for the language are inserted as a prefix (except when the language is the default one). That gives wiki:traduction in French, translated into English in en:wiki:traduction. Evidently, the approach suffers from a major weakness: some pages may have paths where some elements are in another language than the page content itself. Like en:wiki:traduction instead of en:wiki:translation. Actually, en:wiki:translation may be created anyway, but as far as the system is concerned, it will be the translation of the French page wiki:translation, that will also have to be created. Enough said... Some research are still going on in order to understand what a good multilingual website would be, one that would offer automated help to manage sets of translated pages...
