In the face of urgent social, ecological, and democratic crises, several initiatives have been taken up by the Left that we call "anti-liberal", aimed at working as a group to create a force capable of impacting the political landscape, and re-mobilizing our citizens.
Many ecological and political activists, with or without particular political affiliations, share these common values: respect for life, social justice, equitable distribution of wealth and resources, critiques of economic development, condemnation of destructive and corrupt capitalism, rejection of the tyranny of finance, defense of public services, republican values, …
It remains to elaborate the necessary political framework.
This is why, around the term of radical ecology, 150 persons, either as individuals, or as representatives of seven sectors of ecology (Alter Ekolo, the Alternatifs, Écologie solidaire, the Mai, Objecteurs de croissance, Utopia, the Zone d'écologie populaire) have held a meeting.
We have elucidated five aims underpinning the objectives of a global ecological policy, in all spheres of political action:
For this reason we will initiate a process of assembly, working for ecological and social transformation.
To this end, we have decided to organize an ecological front, anti-capitalist, anti-productivist, alter-mondialist, a place for collective initiatives and elaboration.
In the same way, we will participate collectively in ecological and social actions coherent with our objectives.
We will present our initiative to various meetings of the anti-liberal Left (the magazine Politis, social forums, anti-liberal citizens groups, etc.)
Our collective endeavor is long term, not delimited by electoral deadlines.
We will get together again before the end of the year, to continue the process that we have begun at Miremont.
We call on all persons, structures, and organizations sharing these objectives to join us.
